Davis-Moore’s Grimsley to be recognized by safety group
Retired Davis-Moore Auto Group president Dawson Grimsley is among a few Wichitans to be recognized Tuesday by Safe Kids Wichita Area.
Grimsley, whom according to a news release will not be present at the event, will be recognized with the group’s lifetime achievement award for his 18-year partnership with the organization that promotes prevention of childhood injuries.
Grimsley retired from Davis-Moore at the end of 2015 after nearly 40 years at one of the city’s largest auto dealers.
Other award recipients will include:
▪ Karla Stenzel, physical education coach and teacher for Wichita public schools, who will receive the 2015 Outstanding Community Volunteer award
▪ Merlin Eck, Kansas Turnpike Authority safety coordinator, who will receive the 2015 Outstanding Coalition Volunteer award
▪ Sedgwick County Health Department’s Healthy Babies program, which will receive the 2015 Outstanding Community Partner award
The awards will be presented at an 11:30 a.m. luncheon at Via Christi Hospital St. Joseph, 3600 E. Harry.
