Visit Wichita has announced new board members for 2016, according to a news release.
New members are Will Harrington (Holiday Inn Wichita East I-35), Aaron Bastian (Fidelity Bank), Don Sherman (Westar Energy), Gary Plummer (Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce), Kevin Kretsch (Hyatt Regency Wichita) and Marcey Gregory (Goddard mayor).
Members serving on the organization’s executive board include Kretsch, Joe Johnson (Schaefer, Johnson, Cox, Frey Architecture), A.J. Boleski (Intrust Bank Arena), Terry Newman (PJ Wichita), Jim Korroch (A.G. Holdings), Mike Noller (Museum of World Treasures) and Rob Harmon (Intrust Bank).
Remaining members of the 26-person board are John D’Angelo (Wichita Division of Arts & Cultural Services), Sundee Dunn (White Eagle Credit Union), Jeff Fluhr (Downtown Development Corp.), Ron Holt (Sedgwick County), Jennifer Keller (city of Derby), Martha Linsner (The Trust Co. of Kansas), Jeff Longwell (Wichita mayor), Mark McCormick (Kansas African American Museum), Adam Mills (Kansas Restaurant and Hospitality Association), Michael Monteferrante (Envision), Mark Reed (Sedgwick County Zoo), Eric Sexton (Wichita State University), Michelle Stein (Wichita Marriott) and Lavonta Williams (Wichita City Council).
The Convention & Visitors Bureau board will be led by Johnson, according to the release. Visit Wichita, which recently had a $2.4 million contract for 2016 approved by the City Council, markets the greater Wichita area in an effort to enhance economic development, according to the release.
