Chick-fil-A to open Thursday in Derby

Derby will get its first Chick-fil-A when the restaurant opens Thursday at the Derby Marketplace.

The restaurant at 1818 N. Rock Road said in a news release that it would offering to the first 100 adults in line at 6 a.m. Thursday “digital offer” cards that would cover the cost of 52 meals. Rules surrounding the give-away can be found at

The new restaurant includes seating for 132 inside, as well as a play area and patio seating.

Andrew Nelson will be the owner and operator of the franchise.

The restaurant said it also would host a book drive through Jan. 10. It invites people to drop off new books at the restaurant. The books will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Wichita.
