DeWitt takes over as VP of operations for Hospitality Management
Bill DeWitt recently joined Hospitality Management to oversee the company’s Best Western and Econo Lodge properties in Kansas and Oklahoma, according to a news release.
As the company’s new vice president of operations, DeWitt will oversee staff training, sales and revenue management, and day-to-day operations, according to the release. DeWitt joins the firm from Best Western International, where he was in charge of 50 Best Western-branded properties in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas.
“During his years as a regional services manager for Best Western International, I had the chance to work with Bill,” said Steve Martens, president of Hospitality Management parent company the Martens Cos., in the release. “I was always impressed by his extraordinary commitment to service quality. I wanted him on my team as we expand our property portfolio.”
Also through a statement, DeWitt said the opportunity to work with Martens was a major factor in making the switch from corporate operations to franchisee.
“Steve has a tremendous track record of developing and managing award-winning properties,” DeWitt said. “It seems like a perfect match to combine his real estate deal-making ability with my operations background.”
Hospitality Management operates the Best Western and Econo Lodge hotels in Blackwell, Okla., as well as the Best Western Plus in Arkansas City. This fall, the company broke ground on another Best Western Plus property in Norman, Okla., which is expected to open late in 2016.
