Sunflower Bank opens new locations in Kansas City market

Sunflower Bank has opened two new branches in the Kansas City metro area, according to a news release.

The branches, in Overland Park and Leawood, which opened their doors Monday, represent the second and third branches for the bank in the Kansas City area.

Sunflower Bank operates one other branch in Overland Park, which opened in 2014.

“Kansas City is a vibrant and growing region,” said Mollie Carter, president and CEO of Sunflower Bank, in the release. “We believe our community banking foundation and strong capital base provide great opportunity for us to bring our full range of personal and commercial services to our relationships in these two additional branches. The team is ready.”

The bank has $1.7 billion in assets and is based in Salina. Sunflower has 27 branches total in Kansas and 11 additional locations in Missouri and Colorado, where it recently opened a branch in Boulder.
