Matt Scheuler has been promoted to president of Collins Bus Corporation in South Hutchinson.

Allied Specialty Vehicles, Inc., the parent company of Collins, said Scheuler will report directly to ASV’s CEO Tim Sullivan.

Scheuler, who earned his bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University, has been vice president of sales and marketing at Collins since February.

Collins is the largest Type A school bus and multifunction school activity bus manufacturer in North America, according to a news release from ASV.

“I’m thrilled to have this opportunity,” Scheuler said in a statement. “Collins is the industry’s leading innovator as the company that introduced the first 16-20 passenger small school bus in 1967, earliest wheelchair lift in the mid-1970s and first propane fueled Type A school bus in 2010....”

Before being appointed vice president of sales and marketing earlier this year, Scheuler, who joined the company in 2001, was director of sales at Collins and responsible for the company’s western region in the United States and Canada.
