Westar Energy announces quarterly dividend

Westar Energy on Tuesday announced a quarterly dividend of 36 cents per share on the company’s common stock, according to a news release.

Westar’s Board of Directors declared that the dividend would be payable on Jan. 4 and would go to shareholders of record as of Dec. 9. With nearly 700,000 customers, Westar is one of Kansas’ largest electric utilities and a main source of power to those in the Wichita area.
