Cindy Claycomb, director of WSU Ventures at Wichita State University, has announced plans for a phased retirement beginning Jan. 4.

Mark Torline, director of WSU's Center for Entrepreneurship, will also take over leadership of WSU Ventures.

WSU Ventures was created by the university in 2014 to specialize in the patenting or commercializing the intellectual property of faculty and students. WSU Ventures and the Center for Entrepreneurship are already housed together in Devlin Hall.

Claycomb, who has served in numerous roles at the university since 1994, will continue to assist WSU President John Bardo in strategic planning.
