Wichita area companies win grants to help boost exports
Export assistance grants of more than $68,000 were awarded Thursday to 14 south-central Kansas companies.
The grants of up to $5,000 were announced at the annual Policy Summit of the Regional Economic Area Partnership. The grants are funded by JPMorgan Chase & Co. along with a consortium of local governmental and economic development organizations and businesses in the area.
The grants are part of regional effort to boost exports from the area by $1.1 billion over the next five years. The Wichita-South Central Region export plan, released in March, outlined steps for local business, civic and government leaders to promote economic development.
Grant winners were: Continental Agra Equipment, BG Products, Global Parts Aero, Nitride Solutions, Compass Aircraft, Harlow Aerostructures, Harper Industries, Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics, Balco, Moridge Manufacturing, Lee Aerospace, Mize and Co., RedGuard and Kuhn Krause.
More money is available until the funding pool is exhausted. For information contact John Schott, senior director of Export Programs at Kansas Global Trade Services, 316-264-5982 or Schott@kansasglobal.org.
