Small business awards deadline is Friday

Nominations are still being accepted for the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce 2015 Small Business Awards. The deadline for making a nomination is Friday.

The annual awards program will be presented this year by Balco, Inc., and Icon Structures, winners of the two divisions in the 2014 contest. The Eagle is among the sponsors for the awards program.

The awards contest begins with nominations and continues through April with a number of steps – including completing applications, getting a chance to exhibit your business at Chamber events, and the selection of 10 finalists – that culminate with the naming of two winners at a luncheon event in the spring.

There is a winner for businesses with between one and 25 employees and another for businesses with 26 to 100 employees.

Among the criteria judges will consider: whether the business has its headquarters in the Wichita metro area; is a member of the Chamber; has been in business at least three years; and has a primary source of revenue from business operations (rather than donations, grants or such).
