Nominations being accepted for governor’s exporter award
Nominations are being accepted for the 2016 Kansas Governor’s Exporter of the Year Award, according to a news release.
The state’s Department of Commerce is now accepting applications for the award, which is presented to a single Kansas business each year for excellence in international trade and marketing. The winner of the 28th annual installment of the award next year will be announced in June, according to the release.
Nominated companies will be evaluated on the totality of their international efforts and overall qualifications, including hiring due to international activities, innovations in global marketing, number of countries exported to and commitment to state and local community, among other criteria, according to the release.
Businesses can nominate themselves or be nominated by other organizations or individuals. Visit KansasCommerce.com/exporter to learn more about the award and to download nomination forms. Completed nominations should be e-mailed, mailed or faxed no later than Jan. 22. For more information, e-mail April Chiang at achiang@kansascommerce.com or call 785-296-5473.
