Redmond & Nazar law firm to merge with Hinkle
Officials from Redmond & Nazar and Hinkle Law Firm said Monday that they will merge effective Jan. 1.
Redmond & Nazar lawyers Edward J. Nazar, Martin R. Ufford, W. Tom Gilman, Patricia A. Gilman, and Nicholas R. Grillot will be joining Hinkle, bringing Hinkle’s number of attorneys to 43.
What’s more important about the merger, said Hinkle’s Dave Rapp, is the expertise that the Redmond & Nazar attorneys bring to Hinkle. Redmond & Nazar’s focus includes bankruptcy, business litigation, creditor’s rights, and family law.
“I think we have expanded the depth and breadth of both firms through the combination,” said Rapp, co-managing member of Hinkle. “I think they’re a great bunch of lawyers and I’m really excited about practicing law with them in the future.”
Tom Gilman of Redmond & Nazar agreed and said the arrangement also will benefit clients of both firms. “It provides a broader range of services to our clients,” he said. “It provides broader expertise to our clients.”
Gilman said he and the firm’s four other attorneys and six support employees will remain at Redmond & Nazar’s office at 245 N. Waco until sometime in February.
At that point they will move to Hinkle’s downtown offices at 301 N. Main in the Epic Center, Rapp said.
He said the firm’s name will remain unchanged following the merger.
Redmond & Nazar was founded in 1955 by Owen J. “Joe” Redmond.
Hinkle was established in 1987. It provides legal services in 31 practice areas. The firm also operates an office in east Wichita, at 8621 E. 21st, as well as in Overland Park.
