Butler to honor Westar Energy, Breathett with diversity awards

Butler Community College will present Westar Energy and a Sedgwick County official with diversity awards later this month, according to a news release.

The college is set to honor the energy company and Sherdeill Breathett Sr., county economic development and trade zone administrator, with awards during its annual Excellence in Diversity Awards Breakfast. This year’s breakfast will take place beginning at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 30 at the Abode Venue in downtown Wichita.

Now in its fourth year, the breakfast is held to recognize excellence in the areas of diversity and inclusion and increase awareness of challenges, according to the release.
