SBA plans free event to help veterans considering business ownership

The Small Business Administration and other organizations will host a free event Wednesday to assist veterans who are considering starting a business.

The event – called The Veterans in Business: Tap Resources for Success – will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Kansas Small Business Development Center at Wichita State University Hughes Metropolitan Complex, 5015 E. 29th.

It will include a panel discussion that includes veteran business owners Tarrance Floyd of Floyd Construction, Summer Guerrero of After Hours Auto Repair and James Volk of Volk Ventures. There also will be presentations by representatives from the SBA, KSBDC, Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce, Veterans Affairs, Service Corps of Retired Executives and Veterans Upward Bound.
