Montgomery County to hold job fairs for laid-off workers
Montgomery County in southeast Kansas is holding job fairs in the coming months following the recent announcement that Amazon will close its warehouse in Coffeyville early next year.
There will be a job fair from 1 to 9 p.m. Nov. 20 at Nellis Hall at Coffeyville Community College. It is aimed at Montgomery County employers.
A second job far will be held from 1 to 9 p.m Dec. 18, also at Nellis Hall, for companies in southeast Kansas.

Coffeyville Community College and Independence Community College are offering tuition and books scholarships to laid-off employees. Interested individuals should contact the colleges directly.
The job fairs are sponsored by Montgomery County Action Council; the cities of Coffeyville, Independence, Cherryvale and Caney; the chambers of commerce of Coffeyville and Independence; Coffeyville Community College; and the Montgomery County Commission.
