Butler college to honor 2 for diversity efforts

Butler Community College will present Excellence in Diversity awards to T-Mobile and Ray Frederick, owner of Frederick Plumbing and Heating, at a breakfast ceremony at 7:30 a.m. Friday at Abode Venue.

T-Mobile will be honored for embracing diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Six groups within the Wichita T-Mobile Call Center foster inclusion by providing opportunities for employees to learn, mentor, advocate and engage, according to a news release from the college.

Frederick, who has also served in various volunteer and leadership roles at the college, will receive the Diversity Leadership Award. He supports and serves on the advisory committee of Advance Kansas, a leadership and diversity training program affiliated with the college.
