Architects win state award for design of downtown YMCA
A local architecture firm has received two awards for a downtown building.
Schaefer Johnson Cox Frey Architecture received the AIA Kansas Honor Award and the AIA Wichita Excellence Award for the design of the Robert D. Love Downtown YMCA.
The 110,000-square-foot building at 402 N. Market opened in December 2012.
The awards were presented at the AIA Kansas conference this month. AIA Kansas is the state chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
