Manufacturing in KC Fed district rose modestly in October
Manufacturing in the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank district grew modestly in October, and producers’ optimism for future activity remained solid, the bank reported.
Companies reported difficulties in attracting and retaining key workers, particularly machinists and welders.
Prices for raw materials continued to rise, although the rise tapered slightly in October from previous months.
The district includes Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Wyoming, the western third of Missouri and the northern half of New Mexico.
