Open house

The Kansas Aviation Museum, 3350 S. George Washington, will host an open house beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday. The event will mark the museum’s 25th anniversary and completion of the first phase of renovations. The event is free and open to the public.

New hours

The Kansas Aviation Museum will change the hours and days it is open to the public with the beginning of a new school year. Effective Sept. 14, the museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Recognized

Hutchinson Regional Medical Center Laboratory has been granted accreditation from the College of American Pathologists following a recent unannounced on-site inspection of the hospital laboratory, which is a requirement for the accreditation.

Via Christi Health, the DoubleTree by Hilton at Wichita Airport and Sherwin-Williams in Andover received the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s 2015 Pollution Prevention Award.
