Popular convenient store expanding into these two Wichita suburbs
A popular convenience store is expanding into two Wichita suburbs.
Building permits show Casey’s General Store is set to open two new locations in the broader Wichita area, one in Maize and another in Kechi.
“We’re proud to be part of the Wichita community where our guests can always expect high-quality fuel options, convenient and craveable snacks, and delicious prepared food,” a Casey’s spokesperson told The Wichita Eagle via email.
Sedgwick County building permits show the Maize location at 5345 N Maize Road, a spot of a former Pizza Hut, and the Kechi location at 1451 E Kechi Road, north of K-254 off 63rd St./Woodlawn. Each store’s listed value is $585,000, according to the permits.
Casey’s currently has 15 locations in the Wichita area. This will be the first Casey’s location to be built in Kechi.
Maize had a Casey’s that closed its doors 10 years ago. The new location will be just two minutes away from the previous location.
“We are always looking for opportunities to better serve our guests and communities, which is why we’re continuing to grow in Wichita,” the Casey’s statement continues.
Casey’s General Store told The Eagle they did not have an update on when the stores would open. Matt Jensby, Kechi’s city administrator, told The Eagle he expected the Kechi store to open at some point this year.
