Charity
The Walmart Foundation’s Kansas State Giving Program has awarded three area nonprofits with grants: $37,966 to Dress for Success Wichita; $50,000 to Kansas Food Bank; and $44,740 to Urban League of Kansas. In all the foundation awarded a total of $315,000 to eight nonprofits in the state.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide’s Starwood Cares for Community will support Saint Francis Community Services’ “Christmas for Kids,” which provides Christmas gifts to about 8,000 children across the state who are served by Saint Francis.
The American Contract Bridge League Charity Foundation donated $4,000 to the Union Rescue Mission to help fund food boxes for Wichita families during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
