Economic development effort to show progress at July event
A major effort to boost economic growth in the area will show its progress at a event July 10.
The Blueprint for Regional Economic Development has eight industry working groups working on plans to overcome common hurdles.
The meeting will be at from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Derby City Hall, 611 Mulberry. No reservations are needed.
Among the updates, the health care group will talk about plans to use tele-medicine to improve healthcare in rural Kansas. The advanced materials group will talk about creating an innovation showcase to spread advanced materials knowledge throughout 10-county region. And the transportation and logistics group will talk about creating a “Smart-Port” to collect facility, transportation and logistics assets on one website.
