Torline named new head of WSU entrepreneurship center
Wichita State University has named Mark Torline as director of the Center for Entrepreneurship, effective Sunday.
Torline grew up in the Wichita area and graduated from WSU, before building a career in southern California as an investment management firm executive. He founded Allegiance Capital in 1993 and served as its CEO until 2008. After selling it, he served as an officer of the successor company, Macquarie Allegiance Capital, and of Trilinc Global.
He sits on the national advisory council of the WSU Foundation and membership on its investment committee.
Torline succeeds interim director Lou Heldman, who became vice president for strategic communications at WSU in July.
The Center for Entrepreneurship fosters and promotes entrepreneurial thinking through academic and community programs.
