Average weekly wage in Sedgwick County? $921

The average Sedgwick County wage in the fourth quarter of 2014 was $921 per week, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

It grew just 1.5 percent from the same quarter of 2013, a rate that placed the county as the 306th fastest growing for wages among the top 340 counties. The U.S. average was 3.4 percent growth.

Even so, the wage growth in the county outstripped job growth over the year, which was just 0.6 percent.

The average wage for other counties of note in the region include: Shawnee County, Kan., $826; Johnson County, Kan., $1,041; Jackson County, Mo., $1,031; Oklahoma County, Okla., $981; Tulsa County, Okla., $952; Douglas County, Neb., $932; Polk County, Iowa, $1,029.
