Event offers advice on clearing trees, brush from land
Land owners and ranchers will have an opportunity to learn how to control unwanted shrub and tree growth in pastures and on other land at an Oct. 10 event.
Foley Equipment will hold an invasive tree and weed control field day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 10 at a site south and east of Wellington.
Educational and technical presentations will be offered by officials from the Kansas Forest Service, Kansas State University and the K-State extension service.
There also will be equipment demonstrations featuring a variety of skid steers and attachments, including tree saws, brush cutters and mulchers.
The event is aimed primarily at reclaiming land for grazing, recreation or wildlife habitat.
The educational presentations begin at 10 a.m., and equipment demonstrations will begin about 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided at 11:30 a.m.
