Accounting firm BKD to expand to Chicago through merger

Accounting and consulting firm BKD said Tuesday that Chicago-based Wolf & Co. will merge with BKD.

Springfield, Mo.-based BKD, which operates a large office in Wichita, said the merger will be effective Nov. 1.

Wolf & Co. has about 140 staff, including 18 partners.

“This combination gives us a strong physical presence in the nation’s third-largest market, where we have been looking to get on the ground for several years,” BKD chief executive Ted Dickman said in a news release announcing the acquisition.

With the addition of Wolf & Co., BKD will have 34 offices in 15 states and $475 million in revenue.
