RedGuard to mark plant opening in Halstead Sept. 27

The city of Halstead will have a grand opening for the new RedGuard plant at 11 a.m. Sept. 27 at RedGuard, at 920 W. Second.

The plant, which makes blast-resistent buildings for chemical works, refineries and other hazardous workplaces, has operated at the Halstead site since May, but the renovatioin is now officially complete.

The plant has 42 employees and is still hiring. The company’s headquarters and some other operations remain in Wichita.

The event will feature a ribbon cutting and plant tours.
