Sporting goods chain opens store in Goddard

An Alabama-based sporting goods retailer said Friday it has opened a store in Goddard.

Hibbett Sports is at 19931 W. Kellogg. It has eight full- and part-time employees, Hibbett Sporting Goods Inc. said in a news release.

The store offers athletic footwear and apparel, and team athletic equipment. It is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The Goddard store is the company’s 25th in Kansas. Its other south-central Kansas stores are in Arkansas City, Derby and El Dorado.

The 79-year-old company is headquartered in Birmingham and it operates more than 950 stores in small to mid-size markets in the South, Mid-Atlantic and lower Midwest states.
