K-State administrator to lead Wichita State’s business school

An associate dean at Kansas State University will be the dean of Wichita State University’s Barton School of Business, WSU announced Wednesday.

Anand Desai will join the Barton school in July, replacing interim dean James Jordan-Wagner.

Desai is associate dean for academic administration at Kansas State and has more than three decades of academic experience, including 17 years in academic leadership.

“His expertise and experience will strengthen the very foundation of the business school, allowing it to reach new heights,” WSU provost and senior vice president Tony Vizzini said in a WSU news release.

Desai joined Kansas State in 1994. Prior to that he was a finance faculty member at the University of Florida, the University of Michigan and Iowa State University. His academic focus is in corporate finance, investments and derivative markets.

He has served as associate dean at Kansas State since 2008.
