Cargill invests more than $56 million in Iowa pork operations
Cargill said it will dedicate a $29 million feed mill in Hedrick, Iowa, on May 12.
The 15-story mill is expected to produce 350,000 tons of feed annually and will support more than 100 family owned farms that raise hogs for Cargill, the company said in a news release.
The mill will operate 24 hours a day, six days a week, and have 14 employees.
The new mill is a 20-minute drive from Cargill’s pork processing plant in Ottumwa, where the company said it recently completed a more than $25 million project that will double its daily bacon production.
