His Ted Talk on motivation has been seen 20 million times. Now he’s coming to Wichita.
Daniel Pink, the author of several best-selling books on work, management and behavioral science, will visit Wichita in February.
Pink will speak and sign copies of his new book, “When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing,” from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at Abode Venue, 1330 E. Douglas.
The event is being presented by Watermark Books and the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Early-bird tickets are $40 and available through Feb. 12 at wichitachamber.org. After Feb. 12, the cost will increase to $50.
The event will include free heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Each ticket-holder also will receive a copy of Pink’s new book.
Pink has written six best-selling books about business, work and behavior, including “Drive” and “A Whole New Mind.” His TED Talk on the science of motivation is one of the 10 most-watched TED Talks of all time, with more than 19 million views.
In his new book, Pink draws on research from psychology, biology and economics to reveal the scientific principles behind timing at work, school and home. For instance, why do certain breaks dramatically improve student test scores? And what is the ideal time to quit a job, switch careers or get married?
Pink, who lives in Washington, D.C., has been a contributing editor at Fast Company and Wired and a business columnist for The Sunday Telegraph. From 1995 to 1997, he served as chief speechwriter to Vice President Al Gore.
