The labor department said on Friday that 10,664 people, or 3.4 percent of the area’s workforce, were unemployed and actively seeking work in October. That compares with 12,337 unemployed people in September, or 4 percent, and 14,209 people, or 4.6 percent, in October 2016.
There were 310,587 people in the area’s workforce in October, the labor department said.
