You can own a piece of Steven family history
The fine chinaware, Victorian furniture, a canoe and even an ice cream parlor’s table and chairs are just a few of the items you can find as part of an estate sale at the home where some of Wichita’s most prominent entrepreneurs were raised.
The 7,100-square-foot home on eight acres, located in west Wichita, was home to the late Joe and Esther Steven.
The couple founded Joe’s Seat Covers and Car Wash and had 11 children, 33 grandchildren and about 60 great-grandchildren. Many have been involved with Wichita-based restaurants, car dealerships and other businesses.
The estate sale, run by Upscale Estate Sales, continues through Saturday, Nov. 18. On Thursday and Friday, the home is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, the sale runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The home, which was auctioned earlier this year, is located at 1301 S. Maize Road. More information can be found at https://www.estatesales.net/KS/Wichita/67209/1706244.
