Wind farm secures agreement to get onto power grid
Capital Power has secured an interconnection agreement for its planned Bloom Wind wind farm near Dodge City.
The 180 megawatt capacity project is about 10 to 12 months away from starting construction.
Capital Power is still seeking a buyer for the power, but spokesman Matt Martin said that because the cost of wind generated electricity in western Kansas is so low, the company doesn’t expect that finding a buyer will be difficult.
