Wichita aircraft subcontractor to get new product line

A Collegeville, Pa. company, Transicoil, said it is moving a product line to its sister company, Wichita-based aircraft subcontractor Electromech Technologies, 2600 S. Custer.

In a letter to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry dated March 13, Transicoil said it would be moving its “Motion Control Product Line” to Wichita and lay off 50 employees in Pennsylvania. The date for most of the layoffs wasn’t specified in the letter.

A spokesman for TransDigm Group, parent of both companies, on Monday declined to comment on the move.
