Open house
Prairie Homestead Senior Living will unveil its newly constructed one- and two-bedroom independent living apartment homes at a public open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday at 1605 W. May. For more information, call 316-263-8264.
New office
Work is wrapping up on a new office building at 3179 N. Main in North Newton that will be home to Everence Financial. Staff from Everence offices in Newton and Hesston will be working in the new building around Aug. 21. A satellite office will remain in Hesston on the campus of Schowalter Villa.
Recognized
The Ambassador Hotel Wichita, Autograph Collection, 104 S. Broadway, has earned the AAA Four Diamond Award rating for the 2016 review period, making it the only hotel or restaurant in Kansas to achieve the Four Diamond or Five Diamond level. The group of Four Diamond hotels represents just 5.9 percent of the nearly 28,000 AAA Approved and Diamond Rated hotels.
Charity
Wichita Federal Credit Union awarded eight area students $1,000 each for post-secondary education. Recipients are awarded based on grade point averages, extracurricular activities, community service, career goals and a written essay. The 2017 recipients were Brandon Nguyen of Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School; Emily Raine of Wichita Heights High School; Faith Northcutt of Wichita East High School; Megan Gerken of Bishop Carroll High School; Gavin Ford of Eisenhower High School, Goddard; Jacob Newlin of Collegiate High School; Kaylee Gunzelman of Andover Central High School; and Adelyn Schurle of Valley Center High School.
