Matt Canfield, vice president of Valley State Bank, graduated from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

Charlie Moon of Wichita received top recognition in the “Benefit Auction” category at the National Auctioneers Association Marketing Competition. The annual competition includes 56 sub-categories across three divisions and drew entries from auctioneers in 22 states.

Ashley Dalian has joined Midwest Single Source as the director of sales operations.

Education

Butler Community College’s professor of English, Mark Jarvis, was named a Master Teacher. He delivered the commencement speech during the Order of the Purple ceremony during graduation ceremonies at Butler.

Dr. Aleksandra Buhr has joined the Via Clinic in east Wichita.

Law

Sedgwick County District Judge Eric Commer and LuAnn Rivera of Wichita were reappointed to the Language Access Committee by Chief Justice Lawton Nuss of the Kansas Supreme Court. The committee makes recommendations to the Supreme Court to ensure that people with limited English skills can access services of the Kansas district courts.

Emily Hurst has joined United Way of the Plains as a relationship manager.

Gabe Schlickau of Meritrust Credit Union has been named chairman of the Local Workforce Development Board in Local Area IV. Schlickau will replace Kathy Jewett, of XLT Ovens.
