The Wichita Aero Club awarded its $5,000 H. Dean Humphrey Scholarship for 2017 to Wichita State University sophomore Grant Boyd of Topeka.
In support of a company-wide June initiative to support cancer patients, Subaru of Wichita donated blankets to Wesley Medical Center to keep patients warm during chemotherapy, where it often feels cold. The dealership is also donating art supplies to children who are going through chemotherapy.
Halaseh Hair Restoration clinic will host a fundraiser from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 29 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The event, at 1034 N. Andover Road in Andover, will include free gifts for the first 100 children, food and drink, live music, raffles and a silent auction. Tickets are $20 in advance and available at Sami Halaseh Salons in Bradley Fair in Wichita or Andover, or by calling 316-260-3005. Tickets for $25 may be purchased at the door.
