Grand opening

Walgreens will host a grand opening from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday of its new specialty pharmacy, Community, A Walgreens Pharmacy, at 803 N. Broadway. The pharmacy will provide patients with chronic, complex and rare health conditions access to specialty and traditional medication.

Groundbreaking

Keller Williams Hometown Partners held a groundbreaking last week for a new, larger location at 429 S. 119th St. The office will be led by Dwayne West, operating principal, and Amanda Rempe, CEO/team leader. It is at 10300 W. Maple. The phone number is 316-729-8500.

New website

Wichita Downtown Development Corp. unveiled a new logo, brand and responsive website at downtownwichita.org.

Recognized

Bill Maness, owner and founder of Syndeo, was presented with the Web.com Small Business of the Tournament Award for the company’s participation in the Air Capital Classic, umbrella sponsor Web.com Tour in Wichita.

Friends of McConnell, an affiliate of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce, was named as the recipient of the 2016 Abilene Trophy. Since 1998, the award has been presented annually by the Abilene, Texas, Chamber of Commerce to the community that demonstrates the most support of its local Air Force base.

Charity

Eric Fisher Academy will host the Carter Tough Donation Day, a fundraising event to benefit Carter Roberts, a local 6-year-old with cancer, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on June 21. All haircut, Dermalogica Customized Skin Treatment (facial), and brow/lip waxing service proceeds from this day will be donated directly to the Roberts family to assist with medical expenses. The academy, at 6727 W. Central, can be reached at 316-440-5555, ext. 1.

Heartspring has received three lead gifts for its Expanding Possibilities campus expansion project, including an anonymous $150,000 donation and a $100,000 donation from the Sunderland Foundation. The project involves construction of a Pediatric Services and Autism Services addition, a new group home and a Competitive Integrated Employment and Music Building for the Heartspring Residential School. It also includes the renovation of the school cafeteria and current group homes. The Heartspring campus is at 8700 E. 29th St. North.
