Kansas trade group wins national honor

Kansas Global Trade Services, a Wichita-based group that promotes international trade, was honored this week with the President’s “E” Award for Export Service.

It is the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making a contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports, according to a release from the group.

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross presented the award Monday at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. Kansas Global was the only Kansas organization recognized. Bestway International, a Kansas City, Mo.-based logistics company and a partner in the Wichita Regional Export Plan, was also honored. They are among 11 companies nationwide that received a 2017 “E” Award for Export Service.

Ross cited Kansas Global’s management of the Wichita-South Central Regional Export Plan and its market research studies for exporters.
