Kansas took another jump in its wind power generation in the first quarter.

The 200-megawatt Cimmeron Bend II wind farm in Clark County and the 280-megawatt Western Plains wind farm in Ford County started operations already this year.

That brings Kansas to 4,931 megawats of generation, according to the American Wind Enegy Association.

More wind farms in Kansas are under construction or in advanced development.
