Brakes Plus, a chain of 67 brake and automotive maintenance shops in six states, has agreed to exclusively use Universal Lubricants’ Eco Ultra recycled motor oil.

Anniversary

S and Y Industries of Winfield will mark 30 years in business in November.

Charity

Wichita Family Dental, 9339 E. 21st St., provided free examinations, cleanings, extractions and fillings to 60 people with intellectual disabilities who are clients of Starkey Inc.

Dollar General Literacy Foundation awarded a total of $5,500 in grants to Derby Public Schools ($2,000), Fundamental Learning Center ($3,000) and Kansas Humane Society ($500).

Wichita Technical Institute donated $1,000 to the ALS Association.

Insurance agency owner David Kauffman received Allstate’s Agency Hands in the Community Award, which included two $1,000 grants from the Allstate Foundation that he directed to the American Heart Association and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Harvey County.
