How does your income stack up with the rest of Kansas?
Personal income in Kansas rose 2.8 percent in 2016, ranking it 39th among states and below the the national average of 3.6 percent growth, according to the federal Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Personal income includes the total value of all wages, benefits, dividends, rent and government transfers such as Social Security.
The state had an average of $48,537 per capita, which is just below the national average of $49,571. That ranks the state 22nd.
