A new call center company is taking over the OLC Global call center at 7370 E. 37th St. North and is looking to hire employees.

Marketlink of Des Moines has acquired the assets and is looking to hire 30 to 40 people within the next three weeks.

Those interested should apply at www.marketlinkinc.com.

Ultimately, said Andrea Henson, the company’s operations manager for North America, the company wants to have about 160 full-time equivalents by the end of 2016. Because many employees work part time, that would mean at about 200 people, working in four shifts, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The company does inbound and outbound sales for companies offering cable, telephone and Internet service, she said. The Wichita location would be working for a cable company.

It is owned by Allied Global, a call center company based in Guatemala.

Recruiting manager Corrina Webber, who worked for OLC in Wichita for 10 years and is staying on with Marketlink, said it will be a crazy few weeks, getting all of the new workers screened, hired and trained. The center has an on-site day care and cafeteria.

OLC Global said in 2012 that it had about 250 people at the 160 stations and wanted to add more. The employees did inbound and outbound surveys, lead generation and sales.

The company, based in Bartlesville, Okla., opened a call center in Wichita in 2005 at Twin Lakes, but moved to the current location in 2007.

OLC owner Tom O’Connor said he is semi-retiring and OLC will be disappearing as a company. He will remain as the building’s owner and lease to Marketlink.

Many of OLC’s managers and employees in Wichita have moved over to Marketlink, O’Connor said.
