New network aims to engage Wichita’s young minority professionals
A new network for minority professionals, Wichita Urban Professionals, will hold a launch event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Kansas Leadership Center, 325 E. Douglas.
Group leaders will talk about their partnership with the Kansas Leadership Center and release survey results for its awareness campaign, Our Future – Now.
The organization, an auxiliary of the Urban League of Kansas, is dedicated to empowering Wichita’s young, minority professionals interested in increasing their leadership potential.
“A lot of young, talented minority professionals have migrated away from Wichita,” said Jonathan Long, the group’s president. “Unless our demographic is actively engaged, we will find ourselves not represented in important discussions that affect the city we love.”
For more information, contact Long at 316-207-2548.
