Chanute bank selects site for planned Augusta branch
Community National Bank & Trust said Tuesday it has selected a building in Augusta that once housed Emprise Bank – and before that, hometown Prairie State Bank – for its first branch in the western Butler County community.
The Chanute-based bank said it will initially open a loan and deposit production office at 512 State St. in downtown Augusta at the end of September.
Longer term, it said it will file an application with its regulators for a full-service branch to open in 2015.
Eric Grooms, an Augusta native and Community National executive vice president who will oversee the office, said the State Street location will likely serve as its full-service branch, too. He said it hasn’t been determined, however, if that will be a permanent location for the bank.
Community National has more than $840 million in assets and 26 offices in 23 Kansas cities.
