Trowbridge’s job entails plenty of numbers, but he enjoys working with people more.

Trowbridge, 49, was born, raised and still lives in Andover. He earned a business administration degree from Wichita State University, working with several small accounting firms while still in college and eventually becoming a part-owner of one.

After 20 years of that, Trowbridge came to AGH as a manager in the tax department in 2005, looking for bigger challenges.

“AGH is a lot like Wichita, which I like to call a big small city. AGH is a big small firm. We’re 120 people. We have big firm capabilities that can match the Big Four even, and yet we have a small firm mentality in the relationship building, which is the aspect I like most.”

Trowbridge was named vice president last month.

“Mostly what I do now is client relations, staff development and recruitment, which is one of the pieces I like most, going out to the schools and recruiting young talent. They keep me young just trying to understand them.”

Trowbridge and his wife, Stacie, who’s a first-grade teacher, have 14-year-old twins, Colton and Carson, who are freshmen at Andover Central and achieve in athletics and cheerleading, respectively. Trowbridge said his wife is a native Texan who teases him about living his whole life in the same town.

“Why would I go anywhere?” he said. “I love it here.”
