Wichita couple purchases area Planet Sub franchise

Doug and Linda Brantner have purchased the franchise rights to Planet Sub in the Wichita area, including its restaurant at 3526 N. Rock.

A news release on Thursday said the Brantners plan a “soft remodel” of the North Rock restaurant, as well as additional locations in the area.

The remodel is expected to be completed in mid-2015, the release said.

Doug Brantner, an accountant, spent 17 years at Hawker Beechcraft and was most recently on the leadership team at Wichita Area Technical College, the release said. Linda Brantner was CEO of Delta Dental of Kansas until her retirement in September 2013.

The Kansas City, Mo.-based franchise has 18 corporate restaurants and 19 franchise units in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ohio and Texas.
