Dick’s opens sporting goods store in Garden City

Dick’s Sporting Goods said it will hold a grand opening at its new store in Garden City Aug. 29-31.

The three-day event will include promotions and fishing exhibitions using a special 4,000-gallon bass tank, according to a news release from the company.

The store at 1540 Lareu St. is part of a retail development known as Schulman Crossing on the east edge of Garden City.

Dick’s, based in Pittsburgh, Pa., has more than 570 sporting goods stores nationwide.
