Jon Rosell named to top post at Kansas Medical Society
Jon Rosell, executive director of the Medical Society of Sedgwick County for the past 10 years, has been named executive director of the Kansas Medical Society, according to a news release Monday.
Rosell will follow Jerry Slaughter, who has led the Kansas Medical Society – the statewide physician organization – for the past 41 years. Rosell will take over on Feb. 1.
Rosell’s hiring is the result of a national search, the release said. He is the current president of the American Society of Medical Society Executives, which represents more than 1,400 medical society professionals and 300 member organizations. He was 2015 chairman of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce and serves on the boards of Envision, 4Wichita and the Kansas Society for Children with Challenges.
He is co-chairman of the health sector of the Blueprint for Regional Economic Growth effort and was co-chairman of June’s Health Innovation Forum.
A graduate of Fort Hays State University, Rosell has a master’s degree in special education from Kansas State University and a doctorate in special education administration from the University of Nebraska.
